Mental Health

 
In addition to protecting the physical health of the American Indian community, SIHC offers professional treatment and therapy for mental health problems and emotional disturbances. Our qualified counselors and licensed therapists provide confidential outpatient care to Indians and members of Indian households.

Care is available in a variety of settings, including office, home, and schools. Clients may enter through a self-referral process, an agency referral process or be referred by others (e.g. family, judicial, health, social service, education systems). Our Mental Health Services include:

  1. Individual, couples, and group counseling and therapy

  2. Child counseling and therapy

  3. Bereavement and phase of life supportive counseling

  4. Depression and anxiety counseling

  5. Domestic violence and anger management classes

  6. Crisis Intervention counseling

  7. Assessments

  8. Interdisciplinary case management

  9. Court appointed cases

  10. Referrals for acute, psychiatric inpatient hospital services, long-term care in specialized psychiatric programs, psychiatric services and short term treatment in crisis intervention centers
